What is Apple ProRaw? iPhone 12 pro users Check this out…

Today Apple released iOS version 14.3 which enables Apple ProRAW support on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max Pro. This is a brand new photography hybrid file format that will let you capture a raw file with all the computational imaging data that you can edit in post production. This includes everything from HDR to Nightsight to Image Segmentation that Apple phones perform in the imaging pipeline into a DNG file that you can do your own edits with. Apple ProRAW provides 12-bit DNG files that feature 14 stops of dynamic range.

You can edit these files in 3rd party apps now such as Pixelmator, Affinity or even Adobe Lightroom. There is a noticeable difference in the image quality and it makes the iPhone Pro and Pro Max the top smartphone camera systems on the market.
