HBO Max is now just called Max, with the libraries of both HBO Max and Discovery Plus. An ad-free subscription will cost $16 dollars a month, with ad-supported and premium tiers available as well.. To note, as of January, HBO Max costs 16 bucks - a price jump from its initial $15 dollar price tag. This whole idea behind the streaming platform merge was born from the WarnerMedia Discovery deal made last year, which cost a cool $43 billion dollars. With it, David Zaslav nixed certain shows and movies, like the Batgirl film, chalking it up as a tax write-off. New DCU casting announcements, and more on today’s Entertainment Fix.

So what does this semi-new service mean for subscribers? Well, we can definitely expect more content to appear on the service, but there’s no guarantee HBO Max subscribers will be interested.
