Airplane doors are impossible to open mid-flight. This is because the cabin is pressurized so passengers can breathe, mimicking conditions at about 8,000 feet above sea level. Planes cruise at about 36,000 feet above sea level, and the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the plane seals the door shut — like a tub drain stopper!
