BMW has announced pricing and specs for the facelifted X1 SUV line-up, dropping the prices of low-end models and upping the sticker on range-topping variants.

Four models will be offered when the X1 arrives in October, starting with the sDrive 18i ($44,500 before on-road costs). Power comes from a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 103kW and 220Nm, connected to the front wheels (exclusively) by an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Moving up to the sDrive 18d ($49,900 before on-roads) brings a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine making 110kW and 330Nm, also powering the front wheels.
Both models ride on 18-inch alloy wheels as standard, and have the xLine exterior package fitted. The seats are trimmed in 'Sensatec' pleather, while an 8.8-inch navigation system with Apple CarPlay is stock. Base models will get BMW's driving assistant package and parking assistant, including a reversing camera.
Finally, the range-topping xDrive 25i ($62,900 before on-road costs). Power comes a four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine pumping out 170kW and 350Nm, put to all four wheels through BMW's xDrive system.

As the range-topper, the 25i gets real leather trim, 19-inch alloy wheels, powered and heated front seats, keyless entry, anti-dazzle mirrors, rear-seat adjustment, dual-zone climate control and M Sport steering.

The updated X1 brings a new look more in keeping with the X5 and X7 to the table, along with minor cabin updates. Interestingly, BMW hasn't fitted its latest OS7.0 infotainment system, instead sticking with iDrive and analogue dials.
