The new Mercedes EQS is an upcoming luxurious all-electric alternative to the likes of the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT and Tesla Model S. It promises to feature even more tech than the recently released Mercedes S-Class when it makes its public debut, which will take place on April 15. With that date approaching, a bunch of interior details have been confirmed.
The covers will be lifted off the long-anticipated Mercedes EQS on April 15. No word yet on how exactly the electric saloon will be revealed, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more teasers and potentially even a live stream to debut the car.
Mercedes’ new Hyperscreen system makes an appearance in these official images, bringing a digital display in front of the driver, a gargantuan touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a third screen for the front-seat passenger.
Mercedes has also programmed the infotainment system to learn how you use the new Hyperscreen, so it can give you on-screen prompts to help you find specific features faster. For example, it’ll automatically bring up someone’s contact details if you call them at the same time every day, and it can suggest your preferred massage functions mid-way through a long drive if it thinks you’re getting tired.
The Hyperscreen will cost extra in the EQS, but no word yet on how much exactly. As standard, a slightly more conventional but still large ‘floating screen’ setup will be included, just like the in in the Mercedes S-Class.
