2022 Volkswagen ID4 Pro S Electric SUV https://youtu.be/a1ohnBDVViw
The all-new 2022 Volkswagen ID.4 is the first vehicle from the German automaker that was engineered from the ground up to be completely combustion-free. Breaking from Volkswagen’s long successful history with gasoline and diesel vehicles, the all-electric ID.4 is a trailblazing transition — and a precursor to a full line of pure-EV models from Volkswagen that will carry the ID nameplate.
While many automakers, including Volkswagen, have modified combustion-engineered vehicles to run with electric power plants, these vehicles are compromised with regards to battery packaging, passenger space, and utility. As a clean-sheet design, the ID.4 eliminates these trade-offs and delivers a comfortable and spacious five-passenger crossover with a solid 240-mile range
The 1st Edition trim is fitted with a single electric motor on the rear axle that develops 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. A 4,700-pound curb weight (about 600 pounds heavier than Volkswagen’s own Tiguan) limits the 0-60 mph sprint to about 7.5 seconds — it’s quick and zippy, which is characteristic of EVs, but not particularly fast. For consumers seeking a bit more speed, future variants will offer dual-motors (all-wheel drive) with a power output in excess of 300 horsepower.
