Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism leads response to COVID-19 with Microsoft technologies

Abu Dhabi is the largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Abu Dhabi city is the federal capital of the United Arab Emirates. The mission of the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) is to promote the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and to manage, develop, preserve, and monitor its culture and historical resources.

Chief Technology Officer Peter Jamieson was overseeing the execution of the digital transformation, which includes the rollout of Microsoft Surface devices for all users, implementation of Microsoft 365, and migration of services to Microsoft Azure while COVID-19 struck globally and in the country. The new technologies enabled DCT teams to collaborate better while working from home, manage the crisis effectively, and respond promptly to the needs of citizens and tourists.
