Best Lens For The Canon 77D.
Hey whats up everyone, my name’s Chris Winter and in this video I’m going to through some of the best cheap lenses for the Canon 77D so you can see which ones might be best for you.
So there are lots of good lenses available for the Canon 77d and not all of them have to be too expensive.
The first lens that most people get when they buy a DSLR is called a Kit lens. The one that comes with the 77D is the 18 to 55mm.
Now it’s the sharpest lens available, nor is the best but if you're just getting started, it should be perfectly fine.
One of the great things about it is that it’s lightweight so you can always carry it aroudn in your bag and because its got a range form 18mm all the way to 55m, it’s greatt for learning which focal length you’ll prefer.
But once you’re ready to get another lens, I’d generaltyl recommned getting a 50mm f1.8. These are also called a nifty 50 because they’re relatively cheap aswell.
For example, Canon’s 50mm STM comes in at around about $125 and it's a fantastic lens.
It’s got great autofocus with it’s stem motor and if you pair it up with the dual pixel autofocus on the 77d, you can get some cinematic smooth focusing.

If thats a littlee too expensive for you, you can take a look at this lens here, this is the young 50mm 1.8. It’s a clone of the old Canon 50mm 1.8 and it's great value because it only costs around $50.
Now it's not the sharpest lens around but it does have a wide aperture of 1.8 which means you're really going tbe able to get that shallow depth of field or blurry background, which is great for portraits.
Now the 50mm is a little long on a APSC body, so it can be a little bit tightt for indoor shots.
So for indoor shots. I’d recommend a lens like a 30mm or a 35mm.
Sigma make a great 30mm 1.4 Art Lens, which is one that I used for about 5 years. It’s fantastic and works well lin video too.
It cost around $450 so if that’s a little pricey for you, you could again take a look at yongnuo who make this lens here, the 35mm f2.
This one costs about $150 and it’s pretty good quality. Again, it's not the sharpest but if you're just starting out, it could be a good option for you.
So they were just a couple of lenses that should be work well with the Canon 77D.
