Experience The-New 2021 Ram 1500 TRX - Extreme Offroading https://youtu.be/efmScBr6_VA
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which the company has nicknamed the T. rex, is out to conquer the Ford F-150 Raptor's prehistoric kingdom. But if it wants to be the dino king, it needs to have some serious off-road equipment to back up its monstrous 702-hp Hellcat supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 powertrain—and it does. From standard 35-inch all-terrain rubber to Bilstein adaptive dampers, here's all the off-road equipment that comes on the TRX, ensuring that you'll hear its supercharger whine all the way from Baja to Moab
The Ram 1500 TRX uses a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case with a 2.64:1 low range. It's controlled via a switch on the dashboard. The TRX has a standard electronic rear locker, but the front axle uses the brakes to mimic a limited-slip function.
The TRX is equipped with an independent front suspension with upper and lower control arms. As on the 1500 and the coming 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, the TRX’s Dana 60 rear axle is equipped with a five-link coil-spring suspension setup, which is ideal for high-speed off-roading. Additionally, Ram shoved the TRX’s front axle forward in order to fit the big rubber and give it more than 13 inches of suspension travel in the front and back—this is awfully close to the Raptor. Overall, the TRX has 11.8 inches of ground clearance—more than three inches more than the regular Ram 1500.
