iMac Pro - Pricing and Specs (VS Custom PC)

Is the iMac Pro really overpriced?? How much does a similar spec PC actually cost?
Before a fight breaks out - nope, I am not an Apple fanboy and nope, I do not intend on buying the iMac Pro. But I do think there is a LOT of misinformation out there about what the iMac Pro really is, who it suits, and what its components are worth.
Clarification/addition - worth noting that the custom built system will be totally upgradable in future - whereas the iMac is sealed - no upgrades. For many people, that alone is a deal breaker. Also, the Mac ecosystem isi sealed too - and the range of options and parts you can include is limited. For some, that is a big downside. From another perspective, this is a benefit for stability of software as it’s easier on developers to make sure that software is stable on all systems. In the PC market, that’s not possible as there’s so many different options in everything from CPU, processor, memory and graphics cards. This can cause stability problems.
Another thing to note - comparing this kind of workstation to a gaming PC that is often shown to demonstrate the value of a PC. If you have 30bit monitor, that is not supported on gaming graphics cards, so you won’t be able to take advantage of the extra color palette.
