Following Netflix's highly publicized subscriber loss, Netflix is now canceling certain animated shows, putting a pause on development, and firing executives. Along with getting rid of its Director of Creative Leadership and Development for Original Animation and his staff, Netflix canceled the highly anticipated animated adaptation of the Bone comic series. Based on the comic by Jeff Smith, the Bone series was announced back in 2019. But that wasn't the only animated show to get the proverbial bone from #Netflix - the animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Twits, and Lauren Faust's Toil and Trouble were also canceled, though the former will reportedly live on as a feature film. While Netflix is cutting back on animation, it's reportedly spending $30 million dollars per episode on Stranger Things season 4. And the director of The Mummy movie, starring Tom Cruise, says the failed film made him a better director.
