The Ford Kuga Hybrid has made its public debut at Frankfurt and signals a significant move for Ford by being the first step in their electrification program with three hybrid models available when it launches next year.

The most powerful hybrid will be the Kuga Plug-in Hybrid with a 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, driven by a 10.3kWh lithium-ion battery. Ford says it develops 223bhp and should manage 235.4mpg, while emitting just 29g/km of CO2.
