Nikon are promoting the Z8 as a replacement, or a mirrorless equivalent to, the mighty D850. That calls for a SHOOT OUT!

I am a mirrorless shooter these days - but the D850 is my all time favourite DSLR - and I resisted mirrorless for a long time. I share that, because I do not have a vested interest in the outcome.

But I have to say - shooting the two cameras side by side, immediately after each other, in a variety of challenging conditions - their strengths and weaknesses really stood out.
