Aiming to revitalize people with the “joy of driving,” Mazda has previewed a two-seater hybrid sportscar. Called the Mazda Iconic SP, the new concept vehicle oozes the old-world charm of the brand’s iconic models while focussing on the future through its efforts to promote green mobility.

Mazda Iconic SP features a hybrid setup with an electric motor and range-extending rotary engine capable of functioning on hydrogen power. This compact powertrain setup allowed engineers a great “degree of layout flexibility, enabling the concept model to have a low center of gravity to enhance driving performance,” said the firm in a statement.
