Getting a retro themed camera 'right' is a tricky thing. How true do you stay to the original, and how far do you go to make improvements to the ergonomics, looks, and importantly how do you make sure it fits well with the rest of the modern line up?

On balance, I think Nikon have done an excellent job on this - keeping the size small, ergonomics comfortable, and incorporating a large ENEL battery and many features from the flagship Z8 & Z9 cameras.
