Almost half the population of the UK owns a pet, and of those half own a dog, so with 9 million canines on our shores this week the ladies test some dog-friendly cars.

Racing driver Vicki Butler-Henderson, Millennial motoring journo Rachael Hogg, and mum Erin Baker (REV!) are testing three of the UK's most popular cars for dogs – the Honda Civic, Land Rover Discovery and Volvo V90 – based on how people search for them at Auto Trader.
