Video Tutorial: How To Use SSON's Networking App

SSON is pleased to present the Shared Services & Outsourcing Week Networking App.

This brand new application is the key to maximising your networking experience onsite at our global Shared Services & Outsourcing Weeks. Available on iPhone, iPad, Android as well as on your Desktops and Laptops, you can easily download this App by visiting the iTunes Store and searching for 'SSON Global'.

Once downloaded, you will receive your unique ID and password to log in to the exclusive area for SSOWeek attendees.

PRE-SHOW

You can use the app to check the latest programme by clicking on the 'Agenda' icon.

Further, you can start building your customised agenda by clicking on the little 'Star' button at the bottom of the session.

Once complete, you can view your custom schedule by clicking on the 'My Event' button and selecting 'My Agenda'.

For those of you who have pre-arranged meetings plotted into your schedule -- this section is also where you'll be able to see which meetings and where you'll be expected to join.

Want to start a list of your favourite speakers? Click on the 'Speakers' icon to view a list of the show's Speaker Faculty, listed by alpha order of the last name.

You can select a speaker, read their biography, check which sessions they're leading by clicking on the 'Sessions' tabs - you can even add a note to yourself on which questions to ask them!

And once you're done, you can view your full list of favourite speakers by clicking on the 'My Event' button.

To help you get to know a selection of leading solution-providers, we've listed our exhibitors in the app by Alpha Order, by Category and by Featured.

You can read a short description about the company, visit their website, add them as a favourite or add a reminder to yourself to stop by their booth at the event to say hi.

ONSITE

The real beauty of this networking app is of course -- the networking function!

Click on the 'Networking' icon to start networking with other attendees.

First, you'll have to complete your profile to go any further -- simple click on the 'Profile' button.

Once your profile is saved, you can now search for other attendees by Keyword, Last Name or Company by completing the form and clicking on the 'Magnifying Glass' on the bottom right of the screen.

If you want to meet professionals most similar to you, you can also search by which Function Group they are in at the event, similar interests and maturity.

Once you find who you're looking for, you can view their profile, click the 'Person' icon to favourite them, add a note to yourself about them, and you can even message them directly or set up a meeting with them onsite.

Setting up a meeting is just as easy. Simply click on 'Meeting' icon on the bottom right of the screen, click on Day, choose the time, add a location, and most importantly, explain why you'd like to meet onsite. Then click on 'Arrange Meeting'.

If this is the first time you're contacting someone, we recommend that you introduce yourself first through a direct message before requesting a meeting.

Please note that meeting and message credits are limited and vary by event.

If you prefer meeting people onsite and then exchanging details, you'll love the QR code and scanner included with your networking app.

If you meet someone onsite and want to stay in touch, simply click on the 'QR Reader' icon and let them scan your code -- and vice versa.

Using your smart phone's camera, you'll be able to scan and save the code into your networking app so that you remember who you met onsite.

Business cards? Who needs them anymore?

At the end of the day, you can click on the 'My Event' icon and then choose 'Scanned Codes' to see all of the new contacts you've made onsite.

You can now favourite them, add a note about each one to remind yourself about your conversation onsite, send them a message with your personal email if you decide to connect after the event or send them a more formal meeting request at a later time during the event.
