HI-SEAS, or Hawaii Space Exploration Analog and Simulation, is a habitat on the island of Hawaii where would-be astronauts can prepare for life on the moon or Mars. On the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing, I see what it's like to live as an astronaut in this simulator, from eating freeze-dried food to exploring the lunar surface on EVA or extravehicular activity.
