Why Is Pluto No Longer a Planet?

Smart is the New Sexy declares ‘There are officially, eight planets in the solar system.’ Pluto is no longer a part of an exclusive club. What does that mean? Firstly, it means that all the existing textbooks will have to be rewritten and secondly, it means that Pluto has a new circle of friends. Let’s see how it all happened.

Well, it's all quite simple. American astronomer Clyde Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930 (0:39). From 1930 until 2006, Pluto felt himself comfortably as the ninth planet in our solar system.

But everything changed in 2006. No, the truth is, that Pluto didn't change in size, shape, color etc. But the definition of a planet did.
