Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty will no longer be part of the show, as Asult Swim says they are no longer associated with Justin Roiland. Rick and Morty will continue on with Dan Harmon in the Executive Producer role, also according to Adult Swim, and everyone is at work on season 7 of Rick and Morty. Justin Roiland was heavily interwoven in the show, including as a creator, showrunner, and many of the characters were voiced by Justin Roiland. Voices across the internet wonder what the show will end up being, if Morty and Rick will be the same without Roiland. Fans of High on Life are probably wondering the same, as Justin Roiland will no longer be working on that title either.

The Rick and Morty voices will be recast, with Rick and Morty Season 6 likely being the last time Roiland will voice any of the characters and Rick and Morty season 7 shaping into a possibly new direction. Due to the nature of the released Justin Roiland DMs and the Justin Roiland allegations of domestic violence, it seems unlikely that he could return to the show in a creative capacity past Rick and Morty season 6. Will things change? Will we lose the chase for Rick Sanchez’ nemesis and Evil Morty? The online community around the show may not need to worry, with Dan Harmon (Community) and the rest of the team at the helm, the show may be in good hands after all.
