Would the Whole Human Race Be Wiped Out If Betelgeuse Explodes?

Don’t know why but it sounds a bit familiar to a movie character.
I just want to make sure whether it’s true if this red supergiant star explodes, all human race be wiped out or it’s just another pseudoscientific speculation.
