Today Zeiss has finally released the 85mm f/1.4 Otus ml lens for mirrorless cameras… and it is amazing. This might be the best 85mm portrait lens I've ever used. This lens is considerably different than the DSLR version in that it is based on the Sonnar formula rather than the Planar. But being a modern lens design it improves on the Sonnar making it one of the best modern lens designs for portrait photography that I have ever used.

If you like the Sonnar look - this lens might be the ultimate lens ever made.
