2020 Hyundai Elantra Sedan Introducing https://youtu.be/RBIps8g-mbg
More manufacturers are moving away from manual transmissions due to declining sales. The 2020 Hyundai Elantra is no exception. With its latest update, the Elantra drops the row-it-yourself shifter in place of the company's "intelligent" continuously variable transmission, or a seven-speed dual-clutch, depending on the trim.
Any version of the 2020 Elantra with the 2.0-liter Atkinson Cycle engine gets Hyundai's CVT. That includes trims like SE, SEL, Value Edition, and Limited. With the standard autobox withdrawn, the Elantra sees fuel economy increases across the board. The base SE model is the most efficient, returning 35 miles per gallon on the highway, while the SEL, Value, and Limited all get up to 34 mpg.
Eco and Sport models with the turbocharged 1.4- and 1.6-liter engines, meanwhile, get the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai hasn't released fuel economy figures for those models just yet. Whatever the trim or transmission, power transfers to the front wheels exclusively.
Minor upgrades, like automatic dual-zone climate control and a 3.5-inch screen within the instrument cluster, are now standard fare for 2020. Safety systems like forward collision warning and lane keep assist are also standard as part of Hyundai's SmartSense safety setup. Radar cruise control, safe exit assist – which alerts passengers of a vehicle approaching from behind – and forward collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, are available on the Elantra Limited with the Ultimate package equipped.
The 2020 Hyundai Elantra SE starts at $18,950, which represents a $1,850 increase over the 2019 model. The Sport model is the most expensive trim, starting at $23,800. Here's how Hyundai's pricing structure breaks down in its entirety:
