When 3D printers first started coming around, there was a lot of excitement. The only problem is that a lot of what we imagined 3D printers would be able to do was far outside of the scope of what the devices could actually do. MakerArm, however, takes the 3D printing concept and puts it right on a robotic arm that is capable of doing far more than just making cute little plastic toys. If you want to, you can still use it to fabricate 3D objects using filament or resin, but its everything else that MakerArm can do that really got our attention.

MakerArm can laser engrave plastic, wood, leather and more using its built in laser head. It can assemble objects by fastening screws and gluing things together for you. It can even carve and mill a variety of plastics, wood, and soft metals right on your desktop, so you can take everyday objects you have and make them look awesome. It can even mill, drill, solder, and pick and place objects to make a fully functioning circuit board. Which is kind of crazy. They even showed off a mini drone they made entirely using MakerArm.

MakerArm will start at $1,399, and delivery is expected for October of 2016.
