Obi-Wan Part 3: Is Kenobi Ready for a Darth Vader Rematch? | Star Wars Canon Fodder

Obi-Wan Kenobi the series takes us to a lesser-known story on the Star Wars timeline, and an in-between moment for the looming figure of Darth Vader. Evan McGregor stars as Obi-Wan Kenobi, alongside his prequel costar, Hayden Christensen.

Kenobi faces his once best friend and padawan Anakin Skywalker in the Disney Plus series while bridging a wide gap between two major performances of the eponymous Obi-Wan. Jedi are in hiding and on the run, especially with the likes of Inquisitor Reva, played by Moses Ingram, a new character introduced to the story to pursue Kenobi. Vader is a striking presence as he grows in hatred and power, and this episode features a long-awaited Vader vs Kenobi showdown, but perhaps not the only one to come in this series from Star Wars. Kenobi also fills in knowledge gaps, making the original "Star Wars" Kenobi performance shift a bit, in the continuity. Anakin vs Obi-Wan is a classic battle we're only beginning to see, and no one wants it more than Vader. Rematch aside, this episode sent chills down our spines, from the moment we first see the red lightsaber in its dark-gloved hand of Vader. Anakin is seemingly no more, with Vader very much using the Sith playbook.
