Unpleasant surprise from the dungeon

Hi, everybody. Mr. Banana's with you again. You won't believe what happened to me. I was attacked, kidnapped. Unfortunately, not aliens – then I would at least make sure that they exist, maybe learn something new. And tell you. That's possible. Most likely. Come on, would tell you, of course.
No, it was much worse than that. Listen to this. I walked in the desert, wanted to find a tomb. Since I'm unlucky in space, at least I could become famous for something like that. There was a hole in the ground. I thought it was the archaeologists' mine. As soon as I came to it, a giant worm jumped out of there, grabbed my leg and dragged me into the depths. Fortunately, I succeeded and got escaped. But what really excited me was the next. There was the world deep in our Earth.
Everything was bathed in some purple color, worms and some huge amoeba were flying, there were flashes from their contacts. Something unknown and unpleasant were moving. And so strangely moving. Have you seen zombie movies? There it is. Slow, slow. You could even wait for sounds like: ahh, munch-munch.
The biomass of those creatures is hundreds of times the weight of all mankind. It is about 15 to 23 billion tons. The entire deep ecosystem occupies a volume of 2 billion cubic kilometers. Underground bacteria and microorganisms can be found. But there are also worms such as nematodes. 70 percent of those that live above, meet below. But behave differently. Without sun's rays these underground creatures extract energy, oxidizing inorganic substances, the surrounding rock...
