We finally might know why X-Men 97 head writer Beau DeMayo was fired by Disney after Marvel Studios issued an official statement on why he was let go back in March. The statement reads, “Mr. DeMayo was terminated in March 2024 following an internal investigation. Given the egregious nature of the findings, we severed ties with him immediately and he has no further affiliation with Marvel.” Marvel was seemingly forced to come out with a statement after DeMayo took to social media with claims he was stripped of writing credit from season 2 of X-Men 97 due to a gay pride post he shared. The post in question is on the screen right now, with DeMayo claiming he was sent a letter informing him this was the reason why his writing credit is being removed for season 2. He also claims he’ll be revealing more on the matter in due time.
