Microsoft Unboxed: Interning at Microsoft (Ep. 33)

This week on Microsoft Unboxed, we’re sharing an inside look at what it’s like to intern at Microsoft. To kick things off, Colleen shares how Microsoft university recruiters are always looking for new talent across the globe. Then, Sonia and Colleen talk about the internships they had before beginning their careers and joining Microsoft, and welcome current Microsoft Office intern Eleanor Lewis to the show. Eleanor shares her background, and how the problem-solving aspect of engineering captured her attention and how important representation is in the field.

Eleanor has been interning at Microsoft for the past three years as a part of the Microsoft Explore program, which allows interns the opportunity to try out different roles. She then discusses her commitment to improving representation for under-represented students and her involvement in groups at Microsoft like Camp Microsoft, Global LGBTQ+ Employees & Allies at Microsoft (GLEAM) and Blacks@Microsoft (BAM). She closes with her advice to those who are interested in interning at Microsoft.
